Need Help Asap!!!

hey guys,

Have a 98gst, mods in profile:

quick question i have been experiencing some probs. There is this awful noise coming from around the turbo area of my car. Car idles just fine, at about 3k and up thats when the noise gets bad. Its not building boost or anything. So i did a leak test on the intake system and found something broken. I have no idea what this piece is called or is used for. It is located directly underneath the battery. It has its own bracket bolted right below the battery. Its cone shape and the top of it broke off somehow. Found it leaking extremely bad, Any ideas what this could be and if it makes sense for the problems i am facing.

i tried taking pics with my digital but there is something wrong with it sorry. Im not sure if its the charcoal canister or not anyone else have there opinions???

hey man,

well its kinda looks like it but then again it doesnt. It is bolted to a bracket basically right between where the battery sits. I took pics of it with my digital but for some reason i cant get them on my comp. Its kind of cone shaped if you follow the line where it goes into the air filter housing it goes right to this. The top of it just completley split right off. and when i checked for any boost leaks this was leaking like crazy. I was just wondering if maybe it had something to do with the problems i was having??
