my rear wheels lock up when i turn and i hear grinding noises when i turn

whenever i turn my rear whells lock up and i hear something grinding in the rear end. What could the problem be? can someone help.

Well of course the worst scenario is that your rear differential is going out. $$$$$. But you could get lucky and it could be a cv boot that has been open for a long time, and has stored up enough dirt, water, and grime to lock up your axle. If this is the case you are maybe looking at a max of $80. Well I hope that i was some help.
