Make sure that rubber battery hold-down isn't letting the naked part of your positive cable touch ground someplace.

what do you mean by the naked part touching a ground somewhere, cause when i look at it i see the naked part of the teminal but its no where near the ground or any other ground components???thanks

what he means is dont let the terminal touch anything grounded, such as the hood..
if it does bad things will happen.

^ believe this man!!!

I bought my car with a hole and black spot right about the + terminal! Yep! + terminal grounded out and made a hole in the hood LOL

you wont beleive what happend to me today, i was "pm"ing my battery terminals and i found that these four wires here:
attachment.php

well from the location of these wires it seems that over time with the cars movement and bumps from the road rubbed the rubber off these power wires and was grounding out my battery and turning my car off and come to find out that if your in gear and car moving and your car just shuts off with the key foward in the ignition the car kick starts its self(found that out today from a freind who is a mech at work). So by having that problem with my cruise control I also was able to locate the problem with my car going over bumps. Thanks a lot guys, this was a successful first post. :thumb:
