I hope someone can help me basically my car would not start check the ecu and it was burned. So i got another ecu rebuilt unit installed it tried to crank the car up and it would not crank then i noticed the new unit was smoking and clicking so i took the negitive off of the battery and pulled the ecu out open it and everything was burned and melted what could have cause this. should i change the coil pack or throttle postion sensor or what i'm stomped what could cause a serge of this sort i have never seen a ecu look so burned the whole board melted. Also i have done a complete tune up all but the coil pack and i even checked all my relays. please help.

Please fix your profile, without the year information we have no idea if your talking about a 4G63 or a 420 and the related ECUs.

Where did the ECU burn and is it the same as your old one.
4G63 ECU will burn up the black driver chips when your ISC coils are shorted and burn up other parts depending on what else is shorted to ground or +12v

yes it is a 4g63 ecu md 166255. so you said the coil will do this but you are saying other things are messed up to like what because i just got another ecu and scared to hook it up what all should i replace besides the coil i just want everything that could cause this changed

I said the ISC coils.
Without more specific information from you on what burned up I can't provide any more advice other than to not put any more ECU's in this car.
