Ok, i just recently installed MSD spark plug wires and NGK plugs a month ago(BPR6ES?whatever the PN is with the 6 in it) so i have noticed a decrease in gas milage and especially noticed it when i went to a recent DSM meet. So i pop my hood and notice the spark plug wire (#1 i think-closest to drivers side when lookin under hood) popped out of the hole. I plug it back in and push down until i hear the POP sound, means its in place. Well It keeps popping out, mainly under WOT. I was embarassed when i tried to launch in front of the guys filming at the meet and i just bog after the wire comes out again. So what is the deal? Is it a faulty wire or is it a spark plug issue? something else? Its just kind of annoying that this is happening with such expensive wires.

Thanks :thumb: :talon:

Does it come off at the coil pack or the head?

If its the coil pack most wires have some glue that keeps the boost and plug end together. Rip that crap and make sure to push the wire end all the way in and then slide the boot on. Why it would pop out of the head I have no clue.

Its coming out of the head. Did i choose the wrong spark plugs? Is it not gripping well enough? I know these questions are kind of dumb to ask i guess but i cant figure out why it would just pop off.

maybe your plug wires are worn out. try checking the contact in the plug wire that connects to the plug in question. the metal connector might be bent outta shape.

This may sound stupid, but Iv'e seen worse...
Check to make sure you tightend the plug correctly. If it is not seal it will blow the wire off under boost. May I also take this moment to suggest bpr7es if you run higher than stock boost or a bigger turbo?

Just a thought

i had the same problem. my spark plugs werent completly sealing. Spark plug has a washer on it. Replaced them and it solved the problem.
