I've got a 95 Eclipse GS, and I've had a hesitation problem for about a year now and it is really starting to get to me. I've replaced tons of parts trying to fix it. The hestiation only occurs under acceleration (partial - WOT) under 4000 RPMs in 4th and 5th gear. After 4000RPM it runs smoothly. It is far more noticable when the car has not warmed up fully. I'm curious as to why it is only under 4K. Does anyone know if any certain sensors are specifically used to tune performance until 4K or is it possible the powerband somehow effects the timing or just makes the problem apear to go away? Any ideas?
