wont start

so i was driving and my car sputtered, then five seconds later it just shut off. the oil filter wasn't tight and all the oil leaked out. i towed it to my friend's shop and put oil in it. still wont start. he said it's weird because when you turn the ignition to the on position it's supposed to shoot out fuel, mine doesn't. it doesn't shoot out fuel until it starts cranking. we tried to replace the relay. that didn't work. could it be the crank angle sensor? any help would be appreciated. thanks

I'm pretty sure it only shoots out fuel when you crank but you will hear the pump when ignition is on. Did you check for spark yet?
