I've just checked my poor little 1.8 with the misfiring and here it goes. Pulled spark plug wires until I came to the dead cylinder , pulled old spark plug and found it to be fuel fouled, (Garage reaked of raw fuel from running) Replaced plug with new one, ran at fast idle for a few minutes and pulled plug again, fouled again. Checked spark and compression, both ok, I've deemed it to be a fuel injector that is running 100% of the time at 100% capacity. I'm getting like 8-9 miles a gallon, spent $60 in the last 5 days on fuel (tell me that's not ridiculous). Please anybody tell me if you thinks I'm at least going down the right trail here.

well since i know nothing of the 1.8 and its quirks, I will only advise one thing, if this is what you suspect, swap injectors around. put the one you think is bad on another cylinder, and see what happens.
if the problem swaps over with the injector you got a bad injector, if not you got a bad cylinder, or something maybe wiring.
good luck
