Can you put a 90 turbo ecu into a 92 turbo. If so do you have to change wiring around or is it even possible

I'm pretty sure I answered this question for somebody else in the past few days. So it should have showed up in a search.

Yes, you can use a '90 Turbo ECU in a '92 Turbo car by releasing and swapping pins 6 and 14 on the ECU connector. You have to keep a couple of things in mind.

The '90 ECU's came in Federal and California versions. (plus FWD and AWD but that's a minor issue and can be ignored)
The '90 ECU's have less aggressive tuning and a narrower range on their fuel trims.
The '91+ ECU's came in four versions. FED and CA + MT or ATX. The ATX ECU's are programmed for smaller injectors and smaller turbos. Using a '90 ECU on a '92 ATX will require more tuning for best performance.
