This damn thing has me all flustered. I can't get it off the damn line coming from the bottom? Is there a trick or something? DO I need to use two wrenches?

Yes. The Fuel filter body has a metric-sized boss you need to hold tight with one wrench (so it won't turn).. then loosen the bottom metal line with the other wrench. I suggest picking up a set of metric flare wrenches if you don't have them already.

Look at the new filter housing and you'll see what I mean ^^^

Yeah, the process is a huge PITA. It took me over an hour and expect to get your knuckles all busted up and full of grease.

It will take two wrenches. One to hold the end of the filter and the other to losted the fitting on the fuel line. There's not much room to work in there and you cant see it from underneath. You just have to feel around the best you can. Good Luck. :thumb:

A good penetrating oil will help the process. I couldn't get my fuel filter to budge until I applied some. Then it came off with a lot of huffing and puffing ;)

Use 2 vice grips instead of wrenches. Its alot easier.
I dont know about you, but I didnt have near enough room to get 2 vice grips in there and turn them. It was a really tight space and I had a hard enough time manuvering 2 small wrenches.....

ditto ^^^

I found it easier to use the two metric flare wrenches and positioning one at an angle so could just squeeze the two together with one hand to loosen. Then again I've got strong hands from all those years of.. well.. :p

Lots of room once you remove the battery. I need to use vice grips... There is a circle at the end of my fuel line that connects to the filter. The joy of bolts that wont turn. ;)

Exactly what DSM90AWD says. In fact, I picked up a set of cheap metric flare wrenches just so I'd have them whenever I changed the fuel filter.
