Power Transistor, Where The Heck Is It?

I am working on my step-son's 96 Eagle Talon non-turbo. He made it 500 miles up here and it died 5 miles from the house, Christmas night. Anyway, there is no spark on 1 and 4, and the coil pack checks out OK with the Ohm meter. Next up is the power transistor. Where the heck is it? I can't find it for anything. Not under the coils, not behind the injector rail, nowhere I can find. We have a Chilton's, but it is just this side of useless. Says to check it, but doesn't say where it is and I don't think it has destructions for testing the 96 model either, even though the cover says it should. His battery wire was loose, and in fiddling with it, the ECU was reset, so the only code we get now is 1255, which is a battery recently disconnected code, near as I can tell. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Should be right near the center of the fuel rail. The plug is about 2 1/2 inches wide. It plugs into the transistor. It is about 2.5X3x.5 iches in size. Hope this helps.

I just don't know, then. I have looked all over and see nothing that remotely looks like the power transistor. I have looked at ones on eBay so I know what they look like. You can see it from the top of the motor, right? And it is bolted onto the motor? I guess the wires must run to the ECU, because that's where the 3 coil wires run to. Is it bolted to a bracket that is bolted to the motor? Between the fuel rail and the head, between the fuel rail and the fire wall, between the fuel rail and the L/R fender well? Higher than the rail/lower than the rail? Thanks.

Well, in case anyone is interested, the solution is that the 96-98 Talon 2.0 non-turbos do not have a power transistor. At least not a separate one, which would be why I couldn't find it. It is built into the PCM (engine computer). So, if your ignition goes bad on one channel, as we have here, you are stuck with buying a new computer. Thanks for trying, guys. I hang out on GRM. Later.
