Just to let ya know, by replacing the thermostat i was able to get rid of my idle surge completely...i'm pretty phsyed

Mine just started to idle surge once the car has been started up and running for 3 minutes about, Then it will surge until it's fully warmed up. Recently my heat is more *warm* then hott, So it could possibly be my themostat also. At least you got rid of it. I know if i mess with my cruise cables, It will also start to surge.
