Gear oil leaking??

A few weeks ago I went to The Menswarehouse to rent a tux for a wedding, well anyways I was early so I sat in the gsx for a good 30 min with engine running and heater blowing. When the store opened I got out and noticed that my car was leaking something. I looked under the car and the fluid seemed to be leaking about a drop/ sec under the passenger side. I didnt mind it much because I needed to get the tux and go home for the wedding, but when I got home and looked under the car again the leaking stopped...??? After the wedding I put the car on jack stands, I got under the car to inspect where it was leaking from but I couldnt find any wet spots. My car drives fine but shifting isnt smooth like it use to be. I'm sure it was my gear fluid that was leaking but I'm just confused as to how it was dripping like crazy and then all of the sudden stopped and I couldnt locate/see where it was coming from when I had the car jacked up. I love my , but there are so many things I have to replace on the car right now... ...I'm going broke!!

I saw 3 question marks in that whole paragraph, but for the life of me could not pull out a question that could be answered.

I am not sure if you want to know how something can leak and then stop leaking 5 minutes later, or if you want to know how to tell where the leak was indeed coming from, or if you want to know why it was leaking, or if you just wanted to vent some steam because you are frustrated.

i would get it up on jackstands again, and take out the fill plug. the way it works, on the 1g at least, is you fill it with gear oil untill it overflows. its also how you check the level. put some gear oil back into it, and if you have to fill it up alot, at least you know it was gear oil. if as soon as you put some oil in there it comes right back out, you know its full, and it wasnt that that was leaking

AC compressor on, or on defrost? It was condensation from the evaporator.

Go back to sleep now.

No the ac compressor wasnt on. It was cold outside so I had the heater running while I was waiting for the store to open.

And sorry for not making that clear but yes, everything that you stated in your post.
1. how something can leak and then stop leaking 5 minutes later?
2. how to tell where the leak was indeed coming from?
3. want to know why it was leaking?

I will put the car back on jackstands in about 2 weeks and check the level, for now I have to wait until after x-mas weekend.

But you're aware the AC comes on when you switch to Defrost? Did you use defrost at all?
