Weather has been really cold, now my windows are freezing up. Since they're Power windows I can't forcibly roll them down. This can last for a while until the temperature of the glass gets to a warm enough temperature and it can go down. I'm thinking there is moisture gathering where the rubber seal meets the glass because it won't go down. Does anyone know a way to combat this problem? Are 2g's vulnerable to this as well?

I have the same problem, though I'm not sure if it is a problem, seeing as how I don't want the window down when it is 32 degrees out. Working the window up and down quickly with the switch might be able to break it free.

I have the same problem too. There is no moisture leak in mine, I am quite certain. I think it is the moisture blowing up to the tope edge of the window, and then freezing, but I doubt it is getting much furthur than that. If it were, water would get in on a windy rainy day.

Yea I just had the same problem today. I tried everything to break them lose. I pushed the button up and down but no go. I also tried to help it down by pushing it but that didnt work either. I needed to put down the window to smoke a cigarette.

I think all cars are prone to this problem. Given the weak mounting of the glass on both 1G and 2G DSMs, I wouldn't try to open it or force it in anyway. You'll probably loosen the mounting points if you do so. Just leave it closed until the ice melts.

That is not a bad idea.

One thing I use on door molding etc in the wintere is plain old Vaseline. I think it lasts longer. I probably greased it up about 3 wks ago. Works pretty good. Car sat Saturday and Sunday, on Monday morning, -8 deg. and nothing forze plus car started!! :thumb: :laser:

My windows were always sticking and I used the tire endurance on the tracks and it never happened again.

Awesome suggestions guys! I was pondering the use of some light lubricant but never even considered Meguire's Tire Endurance. Thanks! I'm going to pick some up. :thumb: :talon:

hell, I have a small bottle of WD40 sitting beside my seat... I spray that into the track every now and then... although I would love to use something that lasted a little frigin longer!

Hopefully you can still find it. It may be discontinued.
