New Car, HELP!!!

I just picked up a 1G (AWD) yesterday and I'm having a few problems. I will try to explain them as best as possible.

Problem 1 - The car stalls alot, it stalls when i am slowing down, Like if i put the foot on the brake then it stalls. It doesnt do it all of the time. Most of the time, but not all of the time. It generally happens when im driving in town. I figure its something with the fuel, but does anyone have a clue what it is. I have heard it could be a few things, like the EGR blockoff, injectors, or even the fuel filter.

Problem 2 - I lose power like a bi0tch when im going up hills. It just bogs down, its like i have to gun it before I go up a hill to not notice any huge difference.

Problem 3 - When I am in 3rd or 4th the car often backfires and shoots flames out of the exhaust. Its nice a special effects show but I really dont want it to be happening. It usually happens when I am around 3000rpms and I step on it. It like bucks the car a few time until it gets into the higher rpms.

Anyone that could give me some insight, that would be awsome. Thanks in advance.

What modifications have been done to the car? Sounds like your running overly rich to me. (Too much fuel can bog the car down, and is responsible for shooting flames). You could also have a spark issue where one plug may be misfiring? Any check engine codes?

I just got the car yesterday, im not sure as to what mods are done. The only thing i know of is that it has a evo 3 16G. It has a manual boost controller to. Oh and another things....it eats up gas like crazy. Like i had to put in 20 dollars yesterday and i only drove about 40 miles at most and it was gone.

first thing to check (which might solve alot of your problems) is to see if you are venting your bov into the atmosphere. There are lots of threads about this. Basically, look to see if there is a tube that goes from your BOV to the intake tube. There SHOULD be one there, if not, then put one on. -Matt
