My motor is shot!!.. Help with my next move!

I have a 90 GSX and I recently wrecked it. I got the whole car back togeather with everything done. The car has new paint on the bumper and fender and a new FMIC. I got the thing all ready to go and the motor is shootin oil. Cylinder number one is blowin oil. Im guessing its probably my piston rings . My car has some mods I ran 13.6 in the 1/4 mile. The car has 135k and was owned by an old man that was the original owner. The turbo and everythign is like new in it. The car was never beat. When I got it I did some work to it. now the motor is going to need to be taken apart if I do fix it. Im trying to see whats my cheapest way out. Parting the car out, rebuilding the motor, Get a reman. Motor??? Some one throw me in the righ direction to getting out of this as cheap as possible. Thanks

Getting it Rebuilt would cost your about 600 to 700ish depending on who you know. You supplying the parts though. Or you could buy a short block most DSM shops sell short blocks they range from 1400 to 3800. You have put all that money into the car it is cheaper to get the motor rebuilt and keep it another 100k miles for 1200ish than scraping it out and buying a new one. Plus you are getting a nice chance to upgrade your bottom end Also to save money you could do it yourself if you have the tools and time.

I would love to do a rebuild myself, but I think that woudl be getting in over my head. I have done alot on the 4g63 and 420a but not that deep into it. Who sells a good rebuild kit? If I go that deep into the motor I wont want to go back to stock but I will not have much cash. So i was thinking of removing the balance shafts and porting the turbo and 2g manifodl and throttle body. Also can you port the head anymore?? Thanks for your help. Point me in the right direction!!

They have just about any part you would need for a engine rebuild. They sell stock as well as aftermarket internals some rated up to 600 hp. All depends what you are going to do. that site will have anything you need.

Porting can get cost ya 50 to 150 depending how much you port out (just for exhaust manifold). You can port any part of the stuff yourself including the head if you have the time and tools. This requires Skill and attn to detail. There are searchs on do it yourself porting on this site I know.

Thanks for the info. Do you know of a site that sells a ful rebuild kit. Would you think it was the piston rings also?

do a compression test dry then wet... it could be valve stem seals.. could be lots of stuff ...
