Heat goes cold at stop?

Alright this may seem like a little and unsignificant problem, but considering its freezing cold here in CT it pisses me off. Ok, when my car is fully heated up and running my heat works fine, however it only works fine when I am driving. When I stop or at idle the heat comes out freezing cold, then when I start accelerating again its warm. Any suggestions whats wrong?

this is probably a stupid question but hey, i'm taking a stab at it. is the coolant filled up in the car? just wondering cause if it's not, i'd imagine that the coolant isn't passing thru the heater core. and maybe when you get on the gas, the waterpump is pushing with enough force to get it thru there and that's why you get heat while driving. only thing i can really thing of

Ya know what that isn't a stupid question. I have the agp turbo kit and it requires the overflow tank to be replaced by another unit, and placed in another location. I placed it were my stock intercooler used to be, maybe it is leaking I never bothered to check. Thanks for the reply, I will let you know if it is filled. Thanks

sounds to me like your waterpump is going.. rev the car to a steady rpm in neutral, and hold it there for a min. Does it blow hot air when your engine's revved up in neutral?

^ ^ ^ The waterpump was my guess, just from reading the title. Some waterpump impellers are plastic, and fail over time.

check coolant level ? purge all the air out of the system ?

Well thanks for all the info, but I have an electrical problem now. So I have to get that fixed before my car will even start.
