I recently dropped in a new motor into my 91 GSX. I decided to replace my clutch while I had my motor out so I got the Centerforce dual friction. Took the flywheel to a machine shop and had them resurface it. Put everything together and damn thing wouldn't go into any gears. Turns out the bastard that resurfaced it screwed up on the steps. I even gave them the sheet that comes with the clutch on proper resurfacing specs. I guess the steps should be .608" - .610" or something like that. Tranny comes out tomorrow.

After searching numerous threads, here is what I compiled for damn near free mods.

1. Check the nut under the dash that holds the clutch master cylinder and make sure that its tight.

2. Instead of ordering a 1/4" push rod for the clutch slave cylinder, get a grinder and make one by using a bolt with about the same diameter.

3. Bleed the clutch

4. Make sure that all your motor mounts are ok. (3 of mine broke before and shifting was damn near impossible)

5. Make sure that shift linkage is tight.

6. Rather than symborski shift kit, skateboard bearings are supposed to work just as good at a fraction of the cost. (Dont remember which ones but Toys R Us is supposed to carry them)

7. 1g datalogger cable can be reverse engineered for around $5. Buying off of ebay usually comes with burned Technomotive Datalogger software anyways.

8. Longer bolts and washers can fix rear camber. Someone have the specs??

9. Buy polyurethane resin or windoweld and fill your stock mounts rather than spend lots of $$ for Prothane or other brands.

10. Wrap stock intercooler pipes with duct tape....wrap it tight and it will reduce expansion.

Please add more to help the DSM community. Thanks :thumb:

Symborski bushing replace the shifter plate bushings.
Rollerblade (or similar) bearings replace the tranny side cable bushings.

In short, you want to replace both the shifter plate bushings and the cable end bushings, to accomplish this you would want both the Symborski kit and the skate bearings.
