Whining noise..T-Case?

Ok here is the deal. I just bought a GSX with broken 1st. gear. I could still drive it but only from second but when i am just chilling i year this whining noise like the car is crying or something. It happens like all the time. Did anyone khow what it could be? What are the side affects when th T-Case is going..how can you tell? Or maybe its the differentials (cant spell) any help would be greatly appriciated. The car is stock with 96K miles on it.

The transfercase has no moving parts when the car is not in motion.

The trans is toast. You need to have it rebuilt.

My car makes a whining noise when I accelerate as well. At first I tried to figure it out, it seemed to only happen when I was putting power to the wheels, not rolling. Well its done that since the day I bought it (at 40K miles). Currently it is at 77K with its 4th batch of tranny fluid and it hasn't changed even after I've driven it and I know I don't drive like a granny. I don't think its anything to worry about. However, in your situation, you have a busted trans anyway so you might as well get a new one. What I'm saying is that if it does this even with the new tranny, I wouldn't be too worried. I suppose it could be something but like I said, my car has lasted about 1.5 years, 37K miles, tons of hard launches and it still does not grind or show any problems.

Ok my friend pulled the tranny for me and we took it apart at home and here is what i find. Two bearings on the 'valve' are completely gona. Like one is still there but it has play in it but the other one fell apart right off the back. 1st, 2nd gear synchros needs to be replaiced with all the silse. 1,2,3,4 gear forks needs to be replaced I am going to Mitsubishi Dealership to order all the parts. Oh yea one more....on the 'valve' one tooth is chipped..not to bad but still its chipped. I hope the dealer wont rape me like a grandma. I'll post the pictures and prices later when i make them. I hope some of you guys realize what you are doing by just droping the clutches. And yea the noise we belive was going from the tranny bc the bearings were busted not the t-case. I hope i get it on the road next week..cant wait to drive it. and yea sorry i really dont know all the terms and maybe i am loosing people here.
