Rear O2 sensor question

I have a 97 GST, the thick black wire that runs to the rear O2 sensor seems to have rotted away where it connects to the O2 sensor in the exhaust and now is just hanging there. My question is, the wire runs up and into the bottom of the car, where does it go once it goes into the bottom if the car? Is there any way I can get access to it? Thanks.

It leads to a connector under the carpet under the driver's seat. You can access it by pulling up the carpet.
