a while back i put a 2.5 inch catback exhaust on and i creeped like mad so i had my evo16g ported along with my manifold and 02 housing. when i got the stuff back from the shop, i put it all back on wiht a 2.5inch DP. So: i now have a full 2.5inch exhaust and everything is ported.

with JUST the catback on, i would creep up to 18psi or so and the car would backfire just an fyi*

after i put everything back on, i would only get up to about 12psi and the car would backfire/jerk. on colder days, maybe 10-11psi it would do this. im confused because it seems like a fuel issue (all i have for fuel is a rewired walbro 190 pump) like im not gettin enough in WOT, yet, my gas mileage is TERRIBLE, were talking 10 mpg if even that. so maybe im running too rich? i thought that but there is no black smoke coming out my exhaust.

ive checked for boost leaks but there are none. the only thing i can think of is... well, when i took my turbo out to get it ported, one of the inner exhaust manifold studs came out, stripped. so now when i drive and i get anywhere near boost, i hear a faint whistle noise, but there are no strong fumes or anything. could this small leak possibly be the culprit? or does my little w190 need an SAFC..? :|

thanks for any help,
nate

edit: also, my idle sucks too now, it fluctuates and after the car warms up and i let off the throttle, it will dip very low, like 200-300 rpms and sometimes kill the car. ive had to adjust the biss screw a few times already.

Did you replace the stud? If not, you probably have a exhust leak.

Funny how so many people post on here but the problem is right in front of them. If you have an exhaust leak prior to your o2 sensor you are going to have mileage issues as well as drivability problems. Fix the exhaust leak and get back to us. Sean
