Shifter Cable Went Crazy

well i was out for a friendly race tonight against my friends probe GT... i took off and nailed it, slammed into second and i found nothing. yes nothing. i pull over immediately and look under the hood. the shifter cable appeared to just break off the bracket. i drove it home somehow finding my way through gears. it was nearly impossible to drive. here are some pictures of what happened. did it happen to anyone else? do i need a whole new cable? how hard will this be to do? and last question is if you have an extra one how much do you want? i cant drive it the way it is. it is the shifter cable on the left side if your looking at it from the front. thanks guys

Ive heard of this happening before. The cable really isnt that hard to replace at all. Besides the bolt and clips under the hood and the shifter assembly, there are two bolts that holds the bracket on the firewall.

a new shifter cable shouldn't be that hard to find, I got a set of used ones off the trader for $30 shipped. Good luck
