I just rebuilt my engine, I have checked everything I do not have a plug undone. I have a 97 GST with 6 bolt swap. My last engine my flywheel exploded and broke everything. I got it all back together now I have 3 lights that stay on in the dash oil, batt, check engine. The check engine will prob stay on.

But now no spark and my coils heat up to the point where you can not touch them that hot please give me any suggestions :(

The 3 lights of doom indicate a charging system failure of some sorts. My guess is you have a SERIOUS short in your engine bay wiring, since you said the coil is getting hot.

that is so not what i wanted to hear LOL it is deff. a love hate relationship with this car

I still have no spark on 1 and 4 cyl. I have brand new plugs wires and coil pack's. I have checked all the wires and plugs all good. Pretty sure the coils aren't bad. Any suggestions? Could it be the igniter pack?

Are you positive that there is no spark? I had a similar problem once, but I came to find out it was getting spark, but the spark plug gaps were too big and the sparks were getting blown out. I'd check your gap size. I could be wrong, but I think the gaps should be 0.028 - 0.030 inches.

before you proceed any further, remove your ecu and open the cover. Look under the metal bracket on top of the board and youll see little orange capacitors. You might need a flashlight to see but check the bottom of them for any burning or leakage. Please do this first, I had the same problem and wasted tons of money on diagnosis. Is it throwing a CEL? Good luck, let me know.

im sorry that is for a 1g, 2g should be similar. Check the ecu.

ok checked that all good... this is what happen i have done the 6 bolt swap on my 2nd gen eclipse... i have the greddy e man but im getting no spark on 1 and 4 cyl... i had a bunch of wires cut on my harn but i saldered them all back correctly and have triple checked.. any more thing you think i might can try?

I would try the igniter. I had spark on 1 and 4, but not on 2 3, when I swapped that out, it fired up!

Clean your plugs and regap them -- especially if you have been getting fuel.

Also, check your CAS. I see that you did a 6 bolt swap. The CAS goes on the end of the intake cam, but it can be out of time. The notch on the rotator piece should align with the groove on the housing, when the #1 piston is at TDC with the cams aligned.

Good luck with it!
