I finally got the motor in but it won't start. I'm not getting spark from the spark plug wires 4 and 3 (2 furthest from timing belt) any ideas? I've changed the coil pack and it's not the wires. Thinking it might be the first plug. Thanks.

hmmm i just looked at my motor, and the plug in the top pic, goes to a connector right next to it. my connnector is right below the a/c line next to the timing belt cover....

i can't see what you are talking about on the second pic...i'm guessing that is looking down at the transmission?

I'd say the top one looks like the plug for the cam sensor. I'm not exactly sure but I think the nipple off the intake is what you're wondering about. It goes to your valve cover.

the top picture is probably for the ac. or the crank angle sensor. It is one of the two. The second picture that vaccum hose goes up to the valve cover nipple however just run a hose down to the ground kinda from the valve cover and plug the open nipple on the intake tube. The plug that is disconnected in your second picture would be easier to see if you zoomed out a little. However I cant tell from the angle but i think its the fan

actually now that i look closer i see that you are just talking about the vaccum line because that plug is connected...LOL

good luck

The second pic looks like the nipple that should goto the valvecover from the intake. If its not that, then its the nipple that goes from the intake to the charcoal canister.

i can't find the male connector for the top pick. Anyone know where to look? The triangle connector next to it is connected. The second pic is the plug with the blue ring around it.

mine is right under that a/c hose next to the timing belt cover. the plug is only so long, look around the area, the plug has to be close.....

Top pic to me looks like the AC plug or the CAS or CAM plug but both of those should be hooked up forsure if not your car won't run. I'll look on mine tonight cuz I gutted teh AC and see if the plug is the same however from your pic the wireharness on that plug looks to short to reach the AC. Second pic I have no idea. Need a better pic.

If it is the cam plug, the cam sensor is on the intake cam so the plug will be very near the head by the manifold. I don't think it's for the AC because I remember that one being considerably longer. I'm still not sure what little blue thing you're referring to on the second picture. Maybe you could circle it using paint or something.

is the the cam sensor you guys are talking about. If so i think i'm ####ed, this piece didn't come on the car when i bought it with a blown motor so it's not on the car with the new motor. Is there anyway to get it on without taking out the motor, its tight in there. thanks.

The one in the picture is a sensor for the crank. There should be another one on the cam side of your exhaust cam. Take off your timing cover and take a close look behind the exhaust cam gear. If you see a small metal plate, find the wire that's most likely dangling around it. I still have no idea about the second picture. It sorta looks like a connection to the doohickey silencer thing that was hooked up to the stock LICP.

Your top picture (gray plug) looks like its the Crank or Cam sensor plug. I forget which one is the gray one, and which is the black one. But on my friend's 95 talon there is a black plug and a gray plug that are right next to each other and one is the crank sensor, and the other is the cam sensor. You should be able to see the cam sensor behind the cam gears and the crank sensor can be seen through the timing cover if you pull the crank pulley off. If you dont have one or the other, isnt going to do a whole lot for you.
Hope I helped!

according to haynes manual the triangle plug is the cranshaft sensor and i have that connected, so the gray one should be the camshaft position sensor. I don't see any plugs behind the cam gears. Also in my haynes manual the camshaft position sensor is on the other side of the motor. Can anyone circle around where it should be. Thanks.

ok, i figured it out. I've just read that the 95-96 and 97-99 had different CAS. My car is a 95 and the head if from a 99. The CAS plug that was on the head what shaved off and didn't look like a plug. So i just ordered a 95 sensor to put on the head. Anyone have a hanyes or chilton manual that shows how the 95 CAS bolts on? My manual on has the 97-99. Thanks everyone for there help.

Well, the 95-96 used the seperate crank senser and cam senser. You will need a 95 or 96 intake cam because the have a metal plate on the inside for the senser. In your pic you don't have it.
