bad noise and now no boost

Ever since I did my 16g install, Ive been having a noise like a supercharger in the engine bay. The SC noise started when I would hit boost. It boosted fine and held it, but just didnt seem to have the pickup my gsx did with just about the same mods. Now the car will not boost at all. The new noise is LOUD now and like something is rubbing against metal. This noise happened periodically when just starting boost. I could let off and boost again and it would go away. But now is just there all the time now and louder than before. Anyone have any suggestions on what it might be?

Check the shaft play in the turbo, make sure it has a good oil supply, then check for boost leaks. How many miles are on it?

well the car only has 63k but I dunno about the turbo. It ran fine when I swapped it from my GSX. It started the noise right after installing it. Does anyone know what the problem sounds like without taking everything apart?

I've heard a whistling nosie when the j-pipe is not fully settled on the compressor outlet, and boost leaks out of it making a noise, but nothing that sounds like metal rubbing.

To check shaft play, all you have to do is take the intake tube off and stick your hand in the turbo and see if it wobbles around (while its cool).

is there anything else that would tell me the turbo is shot? Is shaft play the only sign of a dead/shot turbo?
