I have just installed the HBC EVO RX, turn the knob all the way out and went for a test drive. The boost is shooting straight up like the wastgate is stucked closed. Here are my questions:

1. What's the PSI for the small 16g actuator? 14psi?
2. The RX kit came with two different spring, light and heavy. I do plan to run 21psi on the track so I swaped out the light spring with the heavy one. Which one should I use?

Thanks.

update,

I disconnected my mbc and just ran the tee from BOV line to the wastgate actuator, still no change. I disconnected the actuator arm to make sure the wastgate open and close and it does. How can I tell if my actuator is good? Please help.

I guess I'll keep trying to get some help here cause I'm all out of ideas.

I ran the car without the actuator and only getting 7psi the most, which means the flapper works.

I then put in a used actuator I bought from a local DSM shop, still getting all out boost, so it's not the actuator.

Any input would be great right about now.

Just another thought, I used to run my pressure source from the turbo oulet pipe but had to change it to BOV after FMIC install about 2 months ago and the system has not work right since. Should I tap the J-pipe or is that just a wast of time?

if you are running a vaccum line just from the tee to wastegate actuator with on MBC in between you should only get as many psi as the actuator is set for if it's still getting alot psi than the actuator is not working right.

That's what I thought but already changed the actuator, still the same. Could my BOV leak so much that it acts like a bleeder valve and not deliver full boost to the actuator? I'll try a different pressure source and see what happens.

Changed boost source to the pcv nipple on the intake, still same result. Hold boost at 14psi like it's suppose to then gradually increase with rpm, hit feul cut at 22psi @5000rpm.

That is boost creep. What are your exhaust mods?

This happens even if I bypass the mbc, can I still get boost creep? This only started after FMIC install. Exhust mods: Ported turbine housing, ported 2g mani, ported o2 housing, 2.5" turbo back w/ 2.5" hiflow cat. Thanks.

Ok, I just did some search on boost creep just now and I think I know what the problem is.
The shop that I took my 3piece port job to didn't even seperate the exhust and o2 housing. They told me there is no need toport the exhust outlet and o2 inlet, bastards. Just one more question, why did this start after FMIC install? Is it because of the 2.5" piping?

I'll update again after I get the o2 properly ported. Do I need to port the exhust housing outlet?

Thanks rjgeier :thumb:

update

I turned up the mbc today to 19psi and it only creeped to 21psi very slowly. I'll be going with a different turbo setup soon so I'm jst going to drive it like thisfor now, just have to shift at 6k during WOT. Thanks for the help. :thumb:
