I was changing the plugs on today and one was burnt (the electrode was half burnt off). What does this mean? Ignition, bad cylinder, I have no idea? Where do I start to fix this?

Can be caused by detonation. Hence, requires fixing whatever may have caused said detonation. OR, you had a bad plug that failed in a catastrophic way. The real question is "where exactly is the rest of the electrode now?" Hopefully it's not in the cylinder anymore, and hopefully didn't do any damage while it was trying to exit the vehicle.
