ok i searched already so if i missed something let me know

the car is a 90 Plymouth Laser RS-T

ok so after i run my car hard it smokes out the front, not heavily but it is also cold out but does this happen to anyone else?

Also the car kinda idles funny kinda bounces from 500 rpms to 1000 rpms and the boost moves with it, Normal?

sorry if im kinda paranoid this is my first turbo and im not sure of everything yet.

thanks for the help in advance.

Is it smoke or steam coming out of the front of the car? If it is smoke then you most likely have an oil leak, that is coming in contact with the exhaust. Check for oil leaks and go from there.

if the oil was leaking out the front wouldn't it be all over the underside of the hood? it is hard to tell if it is steam or smoke. maybe im just paranoid.

Not necessarily. Sometimes you can have oil leak out your valve cover for instance and it'll dribble onto your head shield. That shield will get really hot after you've been running your car and it'll cause the oil to cook causing smoke. Can you tell where it's coming from?

what color is the smoke? white? blue? does the smoke smell like burning oil? when its smoking and you pop the hood and look, where is the smoke coming from in the engine bay? how do you have boost at 500-1000rpm? do you mean vacuum? :talon:

sorry yes i meant boost gauge... refer to picture it goes from bottom of the red to 0-1 PSI fluctuates from there back..same with RPM's. Normal?

it seems more like a steam then smoke but i will drive it again tomorrow to double check...

thanks

On a boost gage anything above 0 is a positive pressure, (boost) and anything below 0 is a negative pressure. (vacuum) so to answer your question, yes its normal for the vacuum to fluctuate with the rpms. But it sounds like you may have a leak somewhere in your vacuum lines

hmm..hope not..but it is normal for the vacuum to fluctuate with the RPM's at idle..how do i check for boost leaks?

check all your vacuum lines. check all the connectors, put a tie wrap around the hose over the connectors, make sure there is no holes or burns in any lines, .. if you know someone with a vacuum tester pull the hose off your main vacuum source, pump it up and see if your lines holds vacuum
