OK, I need some help on this one. I have a very heavy and noticeable vibration all the time. It will vibrate at idle, when driving, when slowing down, the vibration does not dicriminate. I have had a few dsmr friends try to diagnose the problem and we aren't really sure what it is. We are going to check the motor mounts, but it seems like its something a little worse. 1 guy suggested tonight that the balance shafts might be out of time or could possibly be installed "off". What are the syptoms of improper balance shaft installation? Also if I can live with the vibration what are the cosequneces of driving around with balance shafts that are out of whack? All information will be appreciated. Thanks

sorry forgot to mention, this is on a 1g six bolt. 92 tsi awd talon...

OK well that looks like the plan of attack. I was just told by a couple DSMr's that its very difficult to change/look at these balance shaft belts with the motor in the car...

When you are taking the harmonic balancer off closely inspect it. It is the main pully on the crank, if that is busted it will vibrate pretty bad.
My balalnce shafts were not timed right when I got my car and it only started to vibrate bad after 4500 rpms or so.
