Ok guys, I installed the SAFCII in my 95 Tsi today, everything works except my tuning functionability. There is a problem. I initialized to Karman and 4 cylinders, but there may be a problem with my wiring here is a picture to show you what I am talking about:

Is the wire in tap 90 Blue with a yellow stripe?

Talking to the guy at apexi-usa he told me to switch the pink and orange wires around. That didn't work, so I'm assuming i'm tapping the wrong wire.
Right now I just lef the pink and orange wires taped and not connected and soldered the blue/wyellow wire back together and the car runs fine stock reading:

RPM
Throttle
Bat,
and Sensor V show up.

But I cant tune cause the connection of those damn wires allow my car to start but then it dies.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS-I searched its just hard to sift through a thousand threads for the same problem, I have work and School.

ALSO To days my B-Day Happy 23rd to me!!!

We are having a huge party in the Tallahasse area tonight (my house) come on by if you can make it. When I say huge I mean 125 people.

Your picture dont work, My friend and I just hooked an safc2 up to his car yesterday. The wire that you hafto hook the pink and orange wire up to, You dont just splice into that one wire. You cut the wire right in half, Then put the one wire to each side, That wire wont be connected anymore. Other then that, Check all of your connections. We had a loose connection and we couldent tune with the loose connection, The car stuttered and blew tons of black smoke, Until we found the loose connection.

I did cut the wire from pin 90. Attached the pink from harness to ecu side, and other side to orange wire from harness.

Is the wire from pin 90 in a 2g blue w/a yellow stripe?

+me = no loose connections, I soldered everything.

Hey,

You're correct, The wire is blue with a yellow stripe. I am 100% sure of it because that was the last wire we did. Does your car blow black smoke, bad idle, and stalling? Then when you try to tune, No matter how much you add or deduct, It wont work? That was our problem. It was one of the two ground wires that were on the same line, Our's was the brown wire that was closer to the plug, Not the black which is on the same line but further.
We also soldered all of the connections, But still had the problem until we double checked everything.

Yeah, when I connected pin 90 to ornage and pink wires, the car would turn on and would then idle for .sec then turn off. I soldered everything. And made sure the ground was soldered very well, but I guess I'll have to check over everything. Thanks for the help

you have to set your AFC to read Karm. if you didnt that would cause your car to do what you stated.

Dude It is set to Karman, but thanks for the info anyway. I'm thinking its a problem with the ground- The black wire wasn't soldered too well-I suck at soldering. . Would the SAFC still read throttle, sensor v, bat v, etc. if the ground were bad???

Thats what I said before, It happened when my friend an I were hooking his up. The ground wire was loose. It still read all of the things on the safc, But it just did not allow us to tune, When we tried, No matter what adjustments we made, It just did not make a difference. Double check all of your wiring, Even if they are soldered.

Then it must be the brown/black ground wires, I'll get back to it on Friday- my day off. School and work are kicking my f'ing ass. The solder on the brown ground wire still allowed it to move around a bit so that = bad soldering job. I check my grounds again. Thanks for the input!!
