ok, heres what is going on... I drive a 91 GVR4. Things are really busy right now and i don't have as much time as i'd like to work on my car. Me and my friend just finished a turbo swap (14b-16g) and a head gasket and stud swap(ARP head studs and MLS HeadGasket). Full mods list in profile. once we finished that we have found a few things that are bad. First off i'm running a CEL, and i haven't had time to test it. Any ideas on where to get that tested cheap? Another thing is i'm running EXTREMELY RICH. People behind me tell me it looks like a black cloud on accel. i got about 175 miles to a tank or pretty normal driving.
I idle at 2k at start up and it goes down to 800-1k after it warms up. One of the things i know is wrong is that a connector on the therm housing was ripped out on accident and i need to fix that. I am also leaking a little bit of oil. Not huge ammounts but enough to care. I just need a little help figuring out what the best thing to do first would be. Any ideas would help. :dsm: :thumb:

Get UV oil leak finder...don't know exactly where to get it though...The rich running and CEL are most likely the ECUs safety mode so you don't kill your car...

If the wires that go to the temp sensor are not in contact/connected, it will give a cell and it will make the car run like crap/rich. This should be your problem, also have you done a boost leak test after the swap? I did a big16 swap a few months ago and loved it.

It can think of anything much cheaper (unless you have a friend with a logger) than going to radio shack and buying a 12v piezo buzzer or 12v LED and checking it yourself. Cost you less than $5.

Check out the CEL maybe the rest of your problems are related.

Which wires go to which sensor though? The problem was that some fell out of the connector closest to the head...how do we put them back IN the connector?

Dude, You are talking about a problem that is so simple, all you need to do is take the two wires that connect to the temp sensor and connect them, you can do a rig job by shaving a little of the cover off the wire at the ends and wrap the bare wire around the sensor ends, or go to radio shack and buy a couple of conectors of the same size as the sensor connectors and crimp them on, any person with an inkling of electronics understaning will be able to take of this for you, maybee a couple of bucks worth of work.
And I really think this will fix your problems, I almost am positive.
PM me if you need any more advise. :thumb:

Does anyone have a wiring Diagram for the Therm housing. After that fix i have a connector that is just laying around and I don't know where it goes.
:dsm:  :dsm:
thanks,
