I hear a gurgal in my dash when I rev up the motor.I assume its comming from the heater core.I dont know though. The car will overheat a little about once a day.The rest of the time it runs around 200 to 208.I assume it is air in the system. But i dont know how to get rid of it.The past to days I have opened it and filled it with a little antifreeze each days.Any help will be appreciated.

The 420A is a DOHC Neon engine. It's not the SOHC, right?

The SOHC version had a head gasket issue. Gurgling in the coolant reservoir tank was the typical symptom.

If you are overheating every day, that still points to head gasket.

What color is your oil? Do you blow any smoke out the exhaust?

thanks,
Amir

still sounds like head gasket to me, my bro had same prob but no smoke and oil was fine so its ify but its head gasket.

Im leaning towards that also.Under boost it pushes coolant into the overflow. My boy told me if it does that then its the headgasket. So im going to do a leakdown check today and if it is I need a good headgasket kit ..

Do any of you recomend one?Im looking at the cometic and and the 4layer mitsu one.

Well we did a combustion chamber test. Its kinda wierd. Its from snap on tools..You put this die in a surenge type tool.It checks for exhaust gases in the coolant and it came up negative. So the tech says my headgasket is fine..

go to auto zone and buy the cheap compression tester and take off the guage and hook up to an air hose and pressurize each cylender to 20 psi give or take and see if you get bubbles, if so do a hg ( cometic is my reccomandation)
