hey all,
i recently blew my motor. there were some deep cuts in cyl 3 wall acaused from a turbo blowing up. the noise is insane, its a constant slamming and clanging of metal on metal. im at a crossroads of what i should do. for those who dont know my car is a 98 gst with 126,000 miles/ act2600/evo3/mbc/etc etc. the motor is junk, in my opinion there is no reason to rebuild it. in my possession i have a 91 AWD talon, 95,000 miles, but the top end will not turn over. when i go to start it the { what i think is the timing belt tensioner} ust spins and the timing belt will not turn, thus not make the engine turn over. i want to do the full swap, engine, tranny and rear end into my 2g. from what im told it isnt that incredibly difficult pending you have all of the parts. for all intensive purposes i have 2 complete parts cars, should i have the TB tenisoner fixed and get the 1g running for the winter, and do the swap after the snow goes away, or should i just start the swap now with no vehicle. any of you mods or wisemen i need help on this one. what do i need that to do this swap! all help is appreciated, all of your help means alot to me.
Thanks in advance,
Ron

well im not as smart as a mod  but if i were you id throw the 6 bolt in the 2g....the timing belt tensioner isnt going to keep it from turning over though...you got more issues than what you think. at least put the 6 bolt block in and keep your 2g head for now so you have a car....and rebuild the 1g head when you get the cash and swap them out after winter
