Well I don't know what happened but it sucks... I noticed that for a couple of days that my shifter was getting hard to put into gear, especially at high rpms. Pulled up to a stop sign and the car died... I cannot get the clutch to release even when pushing the clutch pedal all the way in. It will shift just fine without the car running. Slave cylinder seems to move properly but I don't know how far it should move. Does anyone have any ideas what so ever...

Thanks all!

Did the pedal pressure change?

If the clutch is not disengaging, check the operation of your master cylinder and slave cylinder. What clutch is in your car and how many miles are on it?

Check the fluid and bleed the lines first. Did you hear any grinding noises?

My Car has 160K miles. All I know is that the clutch isn't disengaging. I pulled up to a stop sign and no matter how much I pushed the clutch it still wouldn't let me change gears. I did check the cylinders...but I don't know what to check for. The slave cylinder does move the fork back and forth but I don't know how much it should move. I am going to bleed it tomorrow. I also observed very closely the pulley attached to the crank while someone pushed on the clutch and it didn't budge. Does this help any?

Is there any fluid dripping from the master cylinder? Check the carpet under the gas pedal inside the car. When you press the clutch pedal in, does fluid come out of the cylider?

Was the clutch slipping at all? Check your shift linkage, is it connected correctly?

There's a good possibility something broke. Did you notice any noises before when you had the car in neutral? If your throw out bearing was bad then it would act similar.

if the slave/master cylinders and shift linkage turn out to be fine it's time to pull the trans

sorry man

Well I was hoping I wouldn't have to jerk out the tranny this time around but I guess what ever it takes. Does anyone know how far the salve cylinder should move so I can measure mine... I haven't noticed any fluid leaking. I checked the carpet around the pedals and didn't feel anything (this is after I gave the clutch a few pumps). I still have Max fluid in the container. As far as noises I cant say I heard anything. Maybe if anything a lil bit of a whine when I down shift into 1st. Car runs fine other than not being able to take it out of gear. I had to start it up in 1st, mash it to get the rpms going before it died and ran all the stop signs to get her home. So is it safe to say this isn't crank walk? Car doesn't die. Just dies when you start it in first and can't take it out of gear. Also I might add. The Gears shift fine with the car off.

Well I finally got it fixed! To find out all the scare about the crankwalk was crap. I took the tranny off and found that the springs on one side of the cluth plate had fallen out and bounded up the clutch. Master and Slave were fine. The new clutch I installed that was oem took care of my pedal going to the floor and runs great! So if your clutch fails to disengage I would take a look at this option before you jump to conclusions as I did.

Good Luck. Thanks for everyone's help.
