Broke T-belt

I was wonder if anyone has broke their timing belt in their 4g63t and when they did did it ever break a piston? or does it usually just bend valves?

I just bought a 4g63T engine with a broken T-belt. Only valves were bent. Your pistons are a LOT stronger than your valves. Nearly all of your valves can be bent and you'll only find a grove in the piston where they hit one another. So you dont have to worry about messing up pistons really...

^ ^ ^ It's very unusual for it to damage a piston, unless a head actually snaps off. Then it gets quite ugly, quite quickly.

We've had that happen here before.

Imagine a 2+ inch wide valve head crunching into a 32 pound piston repeatedly.


More than likely the only damage to the car will be to the valves.
