my buddy came to my house at 2 am he just bought a 2g eclipse turbo FWD and was learning stick on it. he said he was cruising in 2nd and he meant to put it in 3rd but jammed it in first and let off the clutch said the revs maxed out and the car just turned off. now it tries to crank over but its like there no spark or fuel to make it start. im gonna take a look at it tomorrow afternoon what are some things i should look for/at??? thanks alot.

Bring the number one cylinder top dead center using a screwdrive in the spark plug hole...then make sure the cam marks are still on, it may have jumped timing a bit.

Does it even try to start or does it just turn over sloppily.

ok checked some more shit today... replaced the spark plugs and there was water in the hole when i took off the plug wires and i smelled the the spark plugs and they smelt weird not like fuel then i smelled the coolant and it was the same smell??? headgasket??? how do i check further to see if its the head gasket?

a compression test should reassure you but if there is coolent in the cilinder im 99% sure the headgasket is fubared. hope i could be of help
