Can you disconnect the egr vacuum hoses and just plug the throttle body nipples, and not have a vaccum leak or more so a boost leak on a sec gen?

I have no idea what you mean... But I was wondering if you can just unplug the egr and cap it and not have any boost leaks. I have done a leak down test and I have changed uip and injector seals all 4 of them and still car bogs sometimes, usually when I come on the boost slowly. So I think it's coming from the egr, only instead of buying a blockoff plate can I just unplug it instead. And if I do what will I need to cap off. :thumb:

well, the problem with that theory is number one: if the egr is leaking vacuum it's probably because it has carbon deposits holding it in the open position, so removing the vacuum line from it will do no good since it cant close properly regaurdless....number two: once in a while when an egr goes bad it's due to the return spring becoming weak and allowing the egr to "tip in" to soon, what happens here is that the exhause gas pressure will force the egr to open up without the vacuum signal from the vacuum hose being a factor, this is due to a weak worn out spring in the egr valve........the best thing to do is either block it off with a piece of drilled plate steel, or the right thing, just replace it and let it do its job of reducing knock........... :dsm:
