I had the dsmlink chip installed at a local computer store, when i got the ecu hooked back up in my car I tried to crank it and it almost fired up but didn't. Now it just turn over but never crank. The motor is not firing at all and the fuel pump isn't working either. I had a shop but a diagnostic machine on it and the computer will not even communicate with the machine. So that tells me the computer is pretty much fried. My question is, could the guy that put the chip in have burned up the computer or is it just something else that can be fixed. Is there any way to check an ecu to see if it still works. Any ideas.

Sounds like a fried ECU. Only way to tell if the ECU is still good is to hook it up to another car. By your name, im assuming you have a 2g. Find a friend with a 2g and hook it up and see what happens.

It was working fine before i took it out and had the computer place put the chip in. Do you think the guy that was working on it could have fried the ecu while he was working on it. I took the cover off of it and it looks like everything is okay. I called the guy and he said nothing was messed up when he put the chip in.

he is suggestin you swap with a friend to confirm yours is workin.SOmetimes just touchin electronic gadgets can ruin them..the as much as the ECU is sensitive, sometimes static electricity you generate can cause microbreaks in the circuit.

I have only seen about 3 turbo eclipses around my area and i don't know the people. If some of the parts inside the ecu messed up is there anyway to repair those or do i have to get another one.
