hunting idle at startup

I just bought my DSM and am realizing now that when i start it up it'll idle kinda high at first b4 it warms up (2000 rpms) but after a couple seconds it'll hunt for a couple mins. Is this normal? Could it be a vaccum leak? what else could be cuasing this?
also I noticed my oil pressure gauge is just slightly below the "normal zone" at idle but during acceleration its right where it should be....is that normal as well??

I get the same thing...not sure why either... my idle is fine.. only at startup.. when the engine is cold.. it needs at least 4-5 cranks to get it started...

mine kicks right over....u ever have any other problems??

My 240sx hunts like a Bitoch for like 10 mins during warmup but thats because the cams/and huge injectors (740cc) im pretty sure.....
my dsm is bone stock.....for now.....

i got the same problem when its cold rpm's are high then after a while they drop, someone told me it might be the tps sensor

ummm im about 95% sure its your fiav... located in the bottom portion of the throttle body, fairly easy diy fix OR find a junkyard tb for cheap and replace yours

I'm pretty sure its just because its cold out, in the summer time it does it less, but it still does it. Its so the engine can warm up fairly quick, its the ECU detecting the temperature to tell it to rev higher for alonger ammount of time to warm the engine up faster....

COLD OUT?! HAHA....Im om Phoenix....100 degrees aint exactly cold...haha....i'll try cleaning out the Idle air control valve.....mainly the high rpms are fine....the hunting is what con fused me......could very well be that IACV tho
