I did a boost leak check

lower intercooler pipe was loost.. tightended
Uicp was loost on both ends.. Tightened
Now, i do it again, and the boost still drops.. sounds like it's leaking behind the intake mani/throttle body... What is back there that can leak? Pictures?

Should the boost drop at all when there are no boost leaks? just wondering what to expect here

Anyone know where these leaks might be coming from? sounds like right behind the intake mani.. but i don't know what goes there that can leak....

boost drops fast

Heh, you just kicked my ass in broodwar... But like I was saying. Try taking a bottle of soapy water and spraying it all over with the system pressurized.. Watch for where the water forms bubbles, and you've found your leak!

i'll try that.

and what's up with me kicking your ass? you had tons of storm :\
zerg overwhelm all :p

i pwned everyone else, too -- yay!!! :)

you got red, though.. gj :)

i have rep if you want it

my injectors seals were bad and it sounded like it was coming from behind the intake, better check them out....and if they are plastic, replace them, they should be rubber :thumb:

Ive heard of people overtightening the throttle body and putting holes through the other side of the intake manifold and cause exactly what your saying. maybe double check that?

throttle body shaft seals. mine was doing the same thing. click tb in the search and you'll find the fix. you have to take your tb abart and replace the seals in it. MACHV sells the kit for $11. hope this helps.

Injector Seals, there's 12 of them.... I just replaced em, damn thing ran like a raped ape.

TB Shaft seals and gaskets or on order.

Then, just yesterday when coming up into boost from around 2300rpm, I felt the notorious draggin a parachute feeling and I said BULL SH!T... so now I'm on the hunt for yet another boost leak.
Good Luck, boost leaks suck....

You lucky bastard.... You're all stock in a state that doesn't have emissions....
Can I use your address to register my car in Montana?? Please.....

hmmmmmm.......

Anyhow.. I guess this is my new shopping list:
(12) Injector Seals - Where do I get these?
Throttle Body Shaft Seals - MACHV
Gasket between Throttle Bosy and Intake Mani - On order.

So this would explain my 9,000lb car above 4,800?

I'm also in the market for some intercooler piping.. Whee...

Try this place.... <a href = http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=213934> Satan</a>

Ask for Howard, he'll hook you up...
Ask for all 12 injector seals.
4 Insulators (between head and injectors)
4 Sheets (between fuel rail and injector) sounds funny I know, but that's what they're called.
4 O-Rings (on injector inside fuel rail)

Should be between $25 - $30 w/shipping for all 12....
Make sure you get both TB gaskets, between the TB and Intake Manifold, and TB and TB Elbow.

As far as IC piping, I'm going to go with the Greddy IC Piping Kit.
It's both an Upper and Lower set that uses your stock TB Elbow.
The Dejon Tool kit is nice, bout $50 more, but the upper S-pipe has to stay connected to your TB unless you have a endless supply of gaskets...
If you have to work around that area, do a fuel filter or somthing like that, it could be a PITA.... Just my $.02

I just checked mine last night and my leak is coming from the exact same spot. ( http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144166 )

I finally took off my heat sheild, and that little "shield" that wraps around the downpipe and o2 housing. I found my leak coming from around the snap right on the turbo. So, if no one has answered your question, maybe I did...in a way.

Yes, it seems possible to have a leak around the manifolds...

*edit* Crap, I re-read your original, and just realized you said intake not exhaust....sorry. Good luck, let me/us know what you found.

Hey dude, where did you say your exhaust leak was coming from?
I have one I can hear when the engine is cold, and if you open the hood right after start up, you can smell exhaust...
Of course this began after I installed a nice brand new Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield... go figure...
