I took my ecm out last night to check to see if any of the caps or anything looked burnt ... well it looked perfect had very little smell to it but everything insiden the case looked like brands new not even any dust or anything on it .. now i have been having a problem with my car flooding out at start up ... is there anything else i can check?

can an aparently perfect looking ecm still have internal damage or no ?

Yes an apparently perfect looking ecm still can have internal damage. The only way to tell is to swap with a known good one or send it in to be checked. If flooding I would first check your fuel pressure and injectors though.

sooo what am i looking for on the fuel injectors ? And when it starts it runs ok .. it kinda idols up and down and if the fans turn on it dies any thoughts

Well I was going to say make sure none of the injectors are stuck open or FP isn't too high but now that you say it runs fine after it starts...um. What makes you think it is flooding? How do the plugs look? Pull them and crank it with them still connected (and touching ground) to see if getting sufficient spark. So it dies when fans turn on. Does it die when other big electrical things are turned on like headlights? If so, check your alternator output voltage (can measure at battery) when you turn them on - it should still be over 14v. and have your battery tested. If it only dies with the fans turning on (and not other things), check fans for a short.

I'd check the coolant temperature sensor as well. if it is shorted, it will read low temperatures and the ecu will think the engine is still cold and run it rich.

Ok it only floods when i try to start it .. like if i hold it at wot it will eventually start .. I know that it floods because when i start to crank it over it kinda trys to start then does nothing soo i took out the plugs and they were drenched and i could see a shiny layer of gas on the pistons .. sooo that lead me to believe it was flooding out i checked the spark and it has consistant spark soo i dont believe that to be the problem

Where is the coolant temperature sensor located .. is it the sensor with only one wire on it .. cuz i had to redo that wire do to the fact that it was broken off ... but the guages works let the car run for about 15 minutes it warms to about midway and the 1 fan turns on and it kinda makes the engine stumble but it stays goin .. someone rigged a switch to the second fan to when you hit the ac button it turns on .. there is no ac soo maybe thats the problem there there is a short in that button they rigged ..

When i get it started it kinda idols a lill rough .. a slight sputter here and there but it will idol all day long when it started just have the problem with it not starting with out holding it at wot its gettin too much gas at start up ..

it runs ok when i drive it .. it suuuuks pretty bad at low rpm but pulls pretty good in upper rpm like 4000 up.

teh car is completely stock stock boost except i have an evo III manifold and evo III 16g turbo which prolly explains the sukky performance down low
