My engine is gonna blow!!
Hey guys, i need your expert help. When i go on highway, and i floor my '99 gsx, it goes up to 18 psi but i feel knock in the engine bay then if i hold on the pedal for too long, i can see blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. I ask my friends and they say im running lean and plus the egt reading is at like 1500 F so i dont know if thats normal. I have stock (450cc) injectors, stock fuel pump. Can someone help me or suggest me what to do to fix these problems? thanks a bunch

suggest you turn the boost down man....
18psi on a big 16g with stock fuel is trouble, do a compression test to see how much if any damage you have already done, and now start to run like 14psi tops...

check your spark plugs. If you dont already have them get a set of NGK BPR7ES plugs (you really should replace the wires too) and gap them to about .28. Get something to tune with because you are running out of fuel. I have seen that problem quite a bit lately and new plugs should help. Also turn the boost down a little bit. You should be fine with that though. Make sure you setup with the right supporting mods too.

My mistake...
I'm sorry. I have Walbro 255 lph high pressure fuel pump NOT stock... my mistake on the first post. I have Denso Iridium plugs, they are not as good as NGK BPR7ES? but the Denso cost me $50, NGK BPR7ES only cost around 15 bucks.

Someone suggested to me that the problem might be the valve seals. But i have no idea what it is or where it is and how to fix it. Can someone give me more in depth details on this. Thanks in advance

Valve seals and guides are in the head. The only way you can change your valve seals, is to pull the head completely off the car. Pull the valves out, and then pop the seals off. They sit inside of the spring coils under the valve keepers. Since your gonna have the head off the car anyway, you might aswell have some machine work done and buy a new headgasket. I dont see it being easy or cheap, sorry. Buy a Chiltons manual! The book will tell you everything you need to learn.

I believe the Iridium plugs are just as bad for a turbo car as platinum ones. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

So you're running 18 psi, on a close to stock fuel system? on a big16g?
Did it ever occur to you to get a logger to log knock? or were you waiting for the knocking sound to come to you?
Obviously with a 1500F egt reading its clear you're doing something wrong. TURN DOWN THE BOOST.
Damn. Running lean? Nawww. No way. You think?
