ok here we go!!!!!!! i have just recently purchased a 91 eagle talon tsi with 145k miles on it. on the way home the oil cooler bolt came loose and all the oil drained out. so i tightened it up put the oil filter back on. then bout 3 weeks ago it happened again so i tightened it up and added oil. i then have low low oil pressure no get up and go power. so i get home changed the oil , plugs, and the fuel filter. i changed the oil to castrol gtx 20-40 w with lucas oil. i started it up and it still had low oil pressure. the car has also been over heating. i just replaced the waterpump, t-stat- and the radiator and completly flushed the system. now i have lifter tap?? i think its really loud right before i go in to boost. im also now not gettting hardly any boost at all and ther is a new noise that sounds like a dry bearing?!?!?! could my turbo be bad or the head warped i dont get it i have 150 compression all the way across and good spark. the exhaust mani has a crack i think but the mani gasket leaks very little. today when i got done driving it there was and oiley substance one the inner right fender where the intercooler is? is my oil cooler bad? i have not yet changed the oil filter though ios that a prob?? please PLEASE SOME ONE HELP ME IMN GUNA BLOW THIS CAR UP.......................ANYONE PLEASE PLEASE.

I LOVE MY 1G BUT OMG SUCH A MONEY PIT

How long was the engine running without any lubrication?

I would inspect the turbo just for the hell of it, might as well eliminate the small stuff first.

ok i shut the car down as soon as i seen the guage drop. i wasnt far enough off the road so i started it up and moved it a foot and shut it off was not running long enough for probs i dont think maybe 3 seconds. the engine light comes on and the code comes back as an os sensor but it goes away and comes back every so often and when the car is not warm or i just start it in the morning i get full boost. i noticed the ticking noise when my friend pulled the recirc tube off and went down the street and back withg out plugging it off? its back on but what could that hurt? the car is still ruinning really hot!
:barf:

i have replaced a lot of little things what else could it be what are the effects of a warped head, bad turbo , or a bad intercooler

well i have a stethoscope and i listned to the valve cover and its louder by the bottom right of it and it is also really loud when i have it on the exhaust mani on the number 1 spot.

OK today i pulled the top off my timing cover and for some reason the belt is loose i just put a new one on and everything was tight so im guna change out the tensioner. waht is wierd is that i found a spare tensioner under my hood back up by the master cylinder LOL i dont know how it got there its not the one off my car. i also decided to go ahead and clean all my lifters so i removed them today and noticed a buil up of metal shavings on one of them?!?!?! what could that be? the intake lifter was the one it was on and they are not yet back in the car but will be tomarrow any suggestions on the overheating problem??????? anyone just throw out ideas im up to try it!

thx for throwing that out there it actually sounds like it i will replace it with a 90 eclipse air to oil cooler or i will get and after market one is there any way to get an aftermarket one and still have that on there with the filter and just block off all the radiator hoses goin to it and get an aftermarket one and hook it up to that one???

ok well you were right i did have the pos water cooler which i removed and bypassed the coolant hoses and put an aftermarket oil cooler on it. car runs cool now no overheating problems at all. I also took all my lifters out and cleaned them really good because of what i though was lifter tap. well i put all them back in and i still here a noise right before boost like a loud cricket noise, then when i was driveing home i wasnt getting full boost and my noise was alot louder. so i out the stethoscope on and poked it around on my valvecover, head, turbo, intake, and the exhaust manifold. it was the loudest on the exhaust mani all the way over to the right. this is also where i have to exhaust mani bolts broke off at. it leaks but very little. the noise im here is not from leaking i dont think because this noise sounds a lot different than a leaking gasket. any ideas????
