A few months ago I replaced the engine in my gs-t with a low mileage import, and every since it's been nothing but problems. It started out with my head gasket, I replaced it even though it looked fine when I pulled it out. Now I had a few different things wrong. First of all, something is screaming at me when I hit the gas, I'm assuming I have a boost leak somewhere, maybe. But it feels like I am dragging a parachute when this happens. Also, after driving for a few, when the car is warmed up, it idles high,(2000-2500rpm), and puffs I think white smoke speratically, mostly when I first engage the clutch. Are all these problems related? Am I f#*&ed? I do have a few mods if it matters any. ( turbo back exaust, no cat, bov recirculated, upper ic, K&N filter.)
PLEASE HELP!

What i would do.

Since you got a "low mileage" motor prolly a JDM one. It doesnt really have low miles, lets get that out of the way first. I have come to realize thats a bunch of bull#$*&.

Do a leakdown test, and a compression check.

After that, if they turn out good...which if its blowing "white" smoke and not "blue" or grey/black, that means ur having a head gasket problem again. Last time when u installed it, did u clean the surfaces and all that good stuff. Are u running high boost on a cheap HG?

If all of it does turn out good...then maybe ur white smoke is really a blue smoke, and its valve seal problems on the head.

Thats my input.

yeah, when I replaced the gasket last time, every thing looked fine, but I cleaned the surface and put a new one anyway. It ran a little better for a short time, but then all this started. Why would my idle be so messed up? or is that a seperate issue?
