Ok, I don't know if my Greddy Type S is f'ing up or if is supposed to sound like it is. First off, I have big16, greddy fmic and all piping, greddy type s recirculated, boosting a little over stock. My bov flutters bad when low rpm but I expected that, but it does not have a high pitched psss when it blows at high rpms either. No matter if its at max boost at max rpm it sounds only like a chhhhhhh with no high pitch sound like I hear in every other dsm!! Help!?

recirclated...not sure if thats in orignial post, =/

--also car is seeming to stutter when accelerating at full boost, bov related?

I just installed my Type-S BOV and it it has a clean high pitched sound. I did the single spring modification to it and it seems to be working very nicely.

BTW, what does the flutter noise sound similar too?

Is the Bov making a flutter type of noise? This would indicate the BOV valve not opening "wide" causing the pressurized air to bounce off the throttle plate and turbine blades. This not good for the turbo.

I'm having the same fluttering issues on all settings of my type-s at low boost. I haven't gone to full boost since getting my car back because it needs a tune. Anyways, I'm thinking of doing the single spring mod also to see if that works. Also heard it could help the problem if I get the lower nipple connected. I'll keep playing with it and checking this thread.

BTW I'm venting with gm maft setup.

Hornet, if the greddy bov is connected correctly, you should not have to mod it.
The second nipple can be connected to a pressure source to aid in the release of the valve when you step off the gas.

ok, i did the single spring mod to the bov and it sounds a little better. it kinda has a little high pitched sound to it and the stutter at WOT has seemed to disappear. however, there is still quite a bit of flutter. i think my bolt adjuster is leaking/stripped because when i had it disassembled i could just push it back and forth fairly easily. tommorow i will be replacing that.....what size allen bolt and nut do i need!? help quick!

ok, thanks alot, my flutter is gone along with my stuttering! ssm mod and backing the bolt out all it can go fixed my problem. it now has perfect a sound and no type of boost leak.

Awesome bro, glad to hear it. :thumb:
I have mine set just like yours but I turned mine down just a couple of turns from the top. What was recommended with the mod.
