Strange popping/grinding noise...could it be my flywheel?

I just recently noticed that my car makes a weird popping noise when switching gears. Usually in first, second and sometimes fourth. I'll switch gears and when I get back on the gas, the car will jolt and I'll hear a POP coming from the right side of the car. Also, whenever I'm slipping out the clutch and giving it throttle, I'll hear and feel a kind of grind coming from beneath me. (or so it feels like)...like somethings not engaging correctly. Could something be wrong with my flywheel? My side motor mounts are torn..could that be affecting my flywheel and causing the popping noise due to the engine shaking? I do however have front and back motor mount inserts. My friend suggested that it might be that my flywheel needs special bolts from Forced Performance and that the stock bolts might be the cause of my problems. Can someone please help me with this. Thanks.
