i have a 91 gsx that will not start. with my 91 ECU (#MD166262) i am not getting power to my injectors so i got a so i got an ECU from a friend it is a 90 (#MD145903) and now the injectors are getting power but only one is pulsing and it is very faintly. is it the ECU or is it some thing else? could it be doing this cause i haven't done the pin change?

Yes switch the pins, if you dont know how do a search with ecu+pins, youll find out how.

On the pin swap it isn't the injectors that the swap is for. Really need help figuring this one out tho so anyone else have any info?

Well your going to have to switch the pins if you want the car to run properly...so do that, if not youll pay for the consequenses. Also did the ecu work in the last car it was in?(the one from your friend)

the car it came out of is a parts car but it did run but it has been a while since it has ran.

Well then what i would do is find a friend with a running car, and switch in your ecu, if the same problems happen then you know whats at fault. :thumb:

Did you fix this yet?

Take a look at the wiring diagram http://www.taboospeedshop.com/wiring.htm
You notice that the injectors get their power from the MPI relay just line the MAF, CAS and coil. The power goes to the resistor pack and from there to the injectors. On the other side is the ECU. It pulls one side to ground when ever it wants to fire and injector. The pulses we are talking about range from 2 to 20 milliseconds hardly long enough to actually see them with out a o'scope or a injector noid that stretches the pulses to it's light.

So with your original ECU it sounds like it wasn't turning on the MPI relay. Capacitor leakage can cause problems like that. The '90 MT ECU needs the two pins swapped before you can conclude anything from it. One pin is the idle position switch and non-critical but the other is the airflow karmen sensor reset for the MAF and the ECU isn't going to do a very good job running the engine with it hooked to the IPS input rather than the MAF reset line.

i did use a o'sope is not plusing for sure have not switch the pins yet i am going to do that in the morning. checked the MPI relay like the hanse manual says to and it checked out ok.
