ok well lately i have been noticing some hesitation with my car. It almost seems like the turbo doesnt want to spool up for some reason. well lastnite as i was leaving work i was in 3rd gear and it felt like it didnt want to go anywhere, so i stepped on the gas and it seemed like something was restricted or like i said the turbo wasnt spooling up. But anyway as i was giving it more and more throttle i was maybe going 35-40 prob 60% throttle and my warning light on my EGT came up. My exhaust was at 900 degrees at 35 mph. What the hell could this mean???
if you guys could help me out here i would appreciate it. I am stumped on this one..

thanks guys

Sounds as if your timing is getting pulled for some reason... The only real purpose of an EGT gauge is to see how much timing retard you are getting. You will know if you are getting a lot of retard if your EGTs are normal then all of a sudden they skyrocket. Think about it, what does your ECU do when it sees knock? It retards timing and the explosion is closer to your EGT probe. If you ever get the chance to ride in a car with antilag, you'll notice the EGTs go crazy.

so you are saying i need to advance the timing??

how can i check to see if the timing is retard??

and if it is how do i advance it??

thanks man

Do you have a logger? I'm not going to tell you to advance your timing unless you know that is the problem...

no man, i dont have a logger.

where can i get one??

Look at the "parts catalog" on this site.

I have a question for you... how are you tuning if you don't have a logger? I see that you have an AFC, but how are you viewing your 02s, timing, ect.? This is a very important part of tuning...
