Well I bought a 95 GSX 5 spd about 3 days ago. Here's the situation (sorry for the length): bought it from a 24 year old guy who claimed to have it for 2 months. The first day he got it the turbo blew becasue of a crack in the stock plastic 2g BOV. Claims that his cousin owned him money but instead cut him a deal - cousin installs 1g turbo, 1g BOV, ported exh. manifold, and BC and they call it even. Well John (the 24 year old) decides to toy with the BC and claims that he turned it a little to high at one point, but quickly found a suitable psi (around 8). 2 days after this the engine started to make a noise (like a high pitched engine). He figures it's an exhaust leak and informs me that his cousin torqued the manifold once but not again after the engine was warm. "Needs a new exhaust manifold gasket" John claims. Drive it when I get home and notice after driving for only 5 min the engine is hotter than normal. Well I go to remove the exh. manifold gasket but one of the bolts is broken.. one half still threaded deep in the manifold. 2 friends take the car for a drive and notice that the oil pressure drops and is extremely low at idle. They both tell me there is an oil leak probobly on the head (that explains the high heat). They also said the turbo boots cuts out at around 4k RPM's. Both friends say it could be a crack or the head wasnt torqued on tight enough. Good old John gets a call and says that the head was never touched, only the exh. manifold. I plan on taking it to a mechanic but I'd like to know what's going on. If any of you DSM Wiseman or anyone at all can give me some advice on what the problem is I would greatly appreciate it. Keep in mind I bought this car for $4,700 and I left about $600 for repairs (I'm assuming that will be easily spent).
