You're going to get all different answers on this. Some say yes, some no. Some say the 1st half of the '90 ECU's won't run the tach in anything later (see posts). Mitsubishi claims (I just asked them today) that every single year is different but then they consider every single possible incompatability (even things that may make no difference in your car with your particular trim, for example some dash instrument/light which you don't have). called the mitsubishi dealer by my house and they are the dumbest dealership ever they dont know anything. they couldnt tell me a single thing and i even gave them the mitsu part # and the still could tell me anything. i am buying it and will try it if any one else has any info on my problem i could use it. and if it doesnt work in a 91 i will have a 90 ECU for sale. :barf: :dsm: :confused:
 
im also going to try that, putting a 90 eprom ecu in a 92, as long as you switch the pins 6-14 youll be fine. search with "ecu pins" and you can find out how to do it.
 
why the kkkkkkkkkaaaaaaboooooooooooooommmmmmmmm?? think it will hurt the car? is so why? thought the eprom was from a 95?
 
not all 1g's had eproms, alot were non eprom. you can interchange ecu's. some are interchangable, some aren't. you just have to know witch ones are.
 
I had Mitsu print out every ECU number for every year Eclipse. Many years have more than one and he said it was due to the trim. Every single year has a different number but I don't think it means some won't work with other years. I thought I saw a post once where it said early 90's won't work with anything else.

Here's a link where the Mitsu dealer here sends the ECU's for repair. Perhaps you could ask them. They also claim they will test your ECU for free if you just pay postage (Houston, Tx).

Kaboom because, ive seen it happen? Heh.. dangerous shit when you try to change out someones ecu with another.. Unles their still the same MD number, I'd say stand back, there might fire.

You may also wan't to check the one about getting into it with moderators on the board, unless you are a fan of short stays.

it ran ok for a few minutes so i turned it off and tryed it again and it wouldnt start. tryed the old ecu and it wouldnt even come close the that. need help real bad any info :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:
checked allmost everything CAS, injectors, fuel pump, plugs, coil pack, new fuel filter and it still will not start.
